With more than 50 years of culinary experience under his belt, Head Chef Khoo Tai Guan is the man behind Di Wei Teochew Restaurant’s delectable cuisine. Starting out from humble beginnings, he worked his way up starting out as a kitchen helper to being an Assistant Chef.
Chef Khoo’s wide variation of cooking knowledge in Chinese restaurants came from working in home-style Chinese restaurants to seafood restaurants. His many years of experience have allowed him to perfect his craft in cooking up delicious signatures such as Teochew Cold Crab, Pork Rib Yam Ring and Cai Po Kway Teow at Di Wei Teochew Restaurant.
Throughout his years in the industry, Chef Khoo has gained recognition for his culinary skills such as cooking one of the Top 50 most delicious dishes in Singapore, Char Kway Teow, back in 2006.
We believe in presenting Teochew dishes in its most authentic state, with minimal flavouring, and bringing out the real tastiness of the food.
Authentic teochew cuisine by the skilled and experienced chefs of Di Wei can be found at its first outlet located in Food Canopy, a food court in Botanic Gardens.
Di Wei’s flagship restaurant is located at 1 The Oval in Seletar Aerospace Park – a 140-seater Teochew restaurant, furnished with traditional Chinese decor and design.
